SCM Champs provides SAP implementation, development and supply chain consulting services for manufacturers, distributors, retailers and logistics companies across North America. We support the full SAP project, from planning and process design to configuration, custom development, integration, data migration, testing, go-live and support after go-live.
SCM Champs is an SAP supply chain implementation partner. Our focus is warehouse, yard and transport work in SAP S/4HANA, SAP EWM, SAP TM, SAP Yard Logistics and SAP Business Network for Logistics (BN4L). We build each solution around how your teams really work.
Most SAP projects need more than one kind of help. A new S/4HANA rollout needs configuration, but it also needs custom development, interfaces to other systems, clean data and a support plan after go-live. We cover all of it with one team, so nothing falls through the gap between vendors.
We implement SAP S/4HANA and SAP supply chain solutions from the first workshop to go-live. This includes business process design, system configuration, testing, data migration, cutover planning, end-user training and hypercare.
We deliver greenfield implementations (a new system built from scratch), brownfield conversions (moving your existing ECC system to S/4HANA) and selective data transitions (keeping some history while redesigning the rest). We recommend the approach that fits your processes, data, timeline and budget.
Standard SAP covers most needs. When it doesn't, we build what is missing in a way that won't make future upgrades painful. Our SAP custom development and extension services include:
We follow a clean core approach. Wherever possible, we build extensions on SAP BTP or use released APIs instead of changing SAP standard code. Your system stays easier to upgrade and cheaper to maintain.
Your SAP system has to exchange data with carriers, 3PLs, customers, suppliers, warehouse automation and other software. As your SAP system integration partner, we design and build these connections. We also set up alerts, so your team knows when a message fails before it turns into a missed shipment.
We work with SAP Integration Suite, including Cloud Integration, API Management, Event Mesh and Advanced Event Mesh. We also work with SAP PI/PO, IDocs, OData, REST and SOAP APIs, and EDI. If you still run SAP PI/PO, we can plan and carry out your move to SAP Integration Suite.
Moving from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA is a big project, and it often brings old problems to the surface. We start by reviewing your custom code, interfaces, data quality and business processes. Then we build a migration plan that removes what you no longer need, fixes what is broken and keeps your operation running during the move.
Our SAP migration services cover ECC to S/4HANA migration, SAP WM to SAP EWM migration, SAP LE-TRA to SAP TM migration, custom code cleanup and data migration. SAP lets companies keep using the older LE-TRA transport functions in S/4HANA only until the end of 2030. SAP TM is the long-term choice, so it makes sense to plan that move early.
Go-live is not the finish line. Our SAP post-go-live support services include application management, issue fixes, small enhancements and performance tuning. We also review how the system is being used on the floor and suggest changes that save time for warehouse and transport teams.
This is where SCM Champs is different from a general SAP consulting company. We are an SAP supply chain implementation partner, and warehouse, yard and transport work is our main focus. Our consultants know how a pick wave, a freight order or a dock appointment actually runs in a live operation, and we design SAP around that.
SAP EWM implementation for warehouses and distribution centers. We cover inbound, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, cycle counting, slotting, wave management, labor management, value-added services and RF or mobile processes.
We also connect SAP EWM to conveyors, sorters, AS/RS and robots through the Material Flow System (MFS). We implement both embedded EWM in S/4HANA and decentralized EWM, and we help companies move from SAP WM to SAP EWM.
SAP TM implementation for shippers and logistics providers. We cover transport planning, load building, carrier selection, freight tendering, freight cost calculation, freight settlement and shipment tracking.
With SAP TM, your team can build fuller loads, choose the right carrier at the right rate and check freight invoices against the price you agreed to pay.
SAP Yard Logistics implementation for sites with heavy truck and trailer traffic. We set up dock appointment scheduling, gate check-in and check-out, yard moves, trailer tracking and a live view of the yard. Trucks spend less time waiting, and your docks are used better.
SAP BN4L implementation to connect you and your carriers on one shared network. We set up freight tendering, shipment status updates, freight invoices and track and trace. Your team stops chasing carriers by email and phone.
Pick what you need: You don't need all four. Some companies start with SAP EWM only. Others need SAP TM and BN4L, or just SAP Yard Logistics. When you do use more than one, one team handles them all, so your warehouse, yard and transport steps fit together from day one.
Most companies don't call us because they want "an SAP project." They call because something isn't working. These are the problems we hear about most, and how we fix them.
Why it happens: Scope keeps growing, decisions take too long and too much gets built custom.
How we solve it: We run fit-to-standard workshops early, agree on scope in writing and use a quality check at the end of every SAP Activate phase. Custom development is approved only when standard SAP can't do the job.
Why it happens: Years of changes in ECC, many of which nobody uses anymore.
How we solve it: We analyze your custom code, retire what isn't used, fix what has to stay and move new extensions to SAP BTP.
Why it happens: Old point-to-point interfaces, no monitoring and no clear owner when something breaks.
How we solve it: We rebuild key interfaces on SAP Integration Suite or APIs, add error alerts and document who owns each connection.
Why it happens: Data is cleaned too late, and loads aren't tested with real volumes.
How we solve it: We start data cleansing early, run several mock loads and reconcile every data object before cutover.
Why it happens: An older WM setup, or spreadsheets and workarounds that grew over the years.
How we solve it: We implement SAP EWM with RF and mobile processes, so every task is system-directed and stock is accurate in real time.
Why it happens: Old SAP warehouse management (LE-WM) is not SAP's long-term warehouse solution in S/4HANA. When you move from ECC to S/4HANA, you need to decide where each warehouse goes next: SAP EWM, or Stock Room Management for simple storerooms.
How we solve it: We look at each warehouse: how complex it is, how much automation and RF scanning it uses, what happens in the yard and how much it will grow. Then we recommend embedded EWM, decentralized EWM or Stock Room Management, and plan the move one step at a time to keep risk low.
Why it happens: No central transport system, and carrier updates arrive by email and phone.
How we solve it: We implement SAP TM for planning and freight costs, and SAP BN4L for tendering, tracking and invoices with your carriers.
Why it happens: No appointment system and no clear view of what is in the yard.
How we solve it: We implement SAP Yard Logistics for dock scheduling, gate check-in and live yard visibility.
Why it happens: A live warehouse can't pause, and cutover windows are short.
How we solve it: We rehearse the cutover, test peak-day volumes, prepare a fallback plan and keep consultants close to the floor during hypercare.
A supply chain system is only as good as its connections. These are the SAP integrations we build most often for warehouse, yard and transport operations.
| System | What data moves | Typical SAP integration |
|---|---|---|
| Carriers (parcel, LTL, FTL, ocean) | Load tenders, shipment status, freight invoices | SAP BN4L, carrier APIs, EDI 204, 214 and 210 |
| 3PLs and outside warehouses | Shipping orders, shipping confirmations, receipts | EDI 940, 945, 943 and 944, APIs |
| Customers and suppliers | Purchase orders, order confirmations, ASNs, invoices | EDI 850, 855, 856 and 810 |
| Warehouse automation (conveyors, sorters, AS/RS, robots) | Tasks, confirmations, equipment status | SAP EWM Material Flow System (MFS), middleware |
| Non-SAP WMS, TMS or yard systems | Orders, stock levels, shipments | APIs, IDocs, SAP Integration Suite |
| E-commerce platforms and marketplaces | Orders, available stock, shipping status | APIs, SAP Integration Suite |
| Shipment visibility and GPS platforms | Live location, ETAs, delay alerts | APIs |
| Label printers, scales and RF devices | Labels, weights, scans | Direct device integration through SAP EWM |
Using a carrier platform, automation vendor or e-commerce system that isn't listed here? Ask us. If it has an API, a file interface or EDI, we can usually connect it to SAP.
We follow SAP Activate, SAP's official implementation methodology. Every project moves through six phases. In each phase, we agree on what we will deliver, review it with you and get your approval before we move on. You always know where your project stands.
We review your current SAP setup, business goals and biggest pain points. Then we recommend the right approach (greenfield, brownfield or selective) and outline a realistic plan.
What you get: An SAP roadmap with scope, approach and a high-level timeline.
We set up the project: team, roles, timeline, meetings and systems. Everyone knows who makes which decision and when.
What you get: A detailed project plan and a team ready to start.
We run fit-to-standard workshops, where your team sees standard SAP processes in action and we record the gaps. We then design the solution, the integrations and the data migration approach.
What you get: A signed-off solution design and an agreed list of gaps.
We configure SAP, build custom developments and integrations, and load test data. Work runs in short sprints, so your team sees progress every few weeks. Testing covers unit tests, integration tests and user acceptance testing.
What you get: A fully tested SAP solution, ready for go-live.
We rehearse the cutover, train your users, move data into production and go live. During hypercare, our consultants stay close to your team and fix issues fast.
What you get: A live, stable system with your operation running.
After hypercare, we support you with fixes, enhancements and ongoing improvements as your business changes.
What you get: An SAP system that keeps improving after go-live.
Every SAP project starts with a business problem. Here are a few we have helped solve.
H3: Manufacturing company moves warehouse operations into SAP EWM
The challenge: Paper-based picking, poor stock accuracy, and a warehouse running outside SAP. Tasks were manual, stock counts were unreliable, and supervisors had no real-time view of work on the floor.
What we did: Implemented SAP EWM with RF and mobile processes, covering inbound, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, cycle counting, wave management and slotting. Integrated SAP EWM to conveyors and sorters through the Material Flow System (MFS). Used embedded EWM in SAP S/4HANA.
The result: Every warehouse task became system-directed, stock became accurate in real time, picking and shipping got faster, and the warehouse moved off paper and spreadsheets.
H3: Distribution company brings transport planning and carriers into SAP
The challenge: Loads were planned in spreadsheets, carrier updates arrived by email and phone, and freight invoices were hard to check against agreed rates.
What we did: Implemented SAP TM for transport planning, load building, carrier selection, freight tendering, freight cost calculation, freight settlement and shipment tracking. Implemented SAP BN4L for tendering, shipment status updates, freight invoices and track and trace. Connected carriers through SAP BN4L, carrier APIs and EDI 204, 214 and 210.
The result: The team built fuller loads, chose the right carrier at the right rate, stopped chasing carriers by email and phone, and checked freight invoices against the prices they had agreed to pay.
H3: High-tech manufacturer moves from ECC to SAP S/4HANA
The challenge: Heavy custom code, old point-to-point interfaces, poor data quality and no clear owner when interfaces broke. The company worried the migration would disrupt shipping.
What we did: Reviewed custom code, interfaces, data quality and business processes. Retired unused custom code, fixed what had to stay, and moved new extensions to SAP BTP. Rebuilt key interfaces on SAP Integration Suite and APIs, added error alerts and documented ownership. Started data cleansing early, ran several mock loads and reconciled every data object before cutover. Rehearsed the cutover and used a phased go-live.
The result: A cleaner SAP core that is easier to upgrade, stable and monitored integrations, accurate migrated data, and a go-live that kept the operation running.
We work with companies where the warehouse, the yard and the truck schedule decide whether customers get their orders on time.
Our clients are usually led by supply chain directors, operations heads, IT directors and CIOs. Some are planning a new SAP implementation. Others are mid-way through an S/4HANA migration, rolling out one EWM site or fixing a system that went live but never worked well.
Choosing an SAP implementation partner is a big decision. You are trusting someone with the system your warehouses, trucks and customers depend on every day. Here is what you can expect from us.
We don't try to cover every SAP module. Our consultants focus on SAP EWM, SAP TM, SAP Yard Logistics and SAP BN4L, so we have seen the same warehouse and transport problems many times and know which fixes hold up.
Your warehouse, yard and transport processes are designed together. Handoffs between them are planned from the start, not patched after go-live.
Our functional consultants and SAP developers work side by side. Designs are realistic to build, and developers understand the business reason behind every change.
We use standard SAP wherever it fits and keep custom code to what truly adds value. When we do build, we follow a clean core approach, so upgrades stay simple.
Cutover rehearsals, peak-volume testing and a hypercare plan are part of the project from the start. Our goal is simple: your operation keeps shipping on go-live day.
Every SAP Activate phase ends with a review and sign-off. You always know what is done, what is next and what risks we see.

Expert quote: “We design warehouse, yard and transport as one connected flow, and we put standard SAP first—custom only when it truly adds value. We plan for go-live from day one, so your operation keeps shipping and your system keeps improving after.” – [prabhjot Singh Nayyar], [CEO], SCM Champs
SAP implementation services cover everything needed to set up SAP for your business: process design, configuration, data migration, testing, training and go-live. SAP development services cover the custom work standard SAP doesn't handle, such as ABAP programs, Fiori apps, BTP extensions, interfaces and forms. Most projects need both, which is why we deliver them together.
It depends on scope. The main cost drivers are the number of sites and users, the SAP modules involved, the number of integrations, the amount of custom development, the state of your current data and your timeline. We give you a clear estimate after the Discover phase, once we understand your processes and systems.
It depends on scope, number of sites, integrations, data quality and the approach you choose. As a rough guide, a single-site SAP EWM or SAP TM project often takes 6 to 12 months. A full S/4HANA implementation or ECC to S/4HANA migration often takes 12 to 24 months. We give you a clear timeline after the Discover phase.
Yes. We handle new S/4HANA implementations and ECC to S/4HANA migrations. We use greenfield, brownfield or selective data transition, depending on how much of your current setup is worth keeping.
Yes. We connect SAP to carriers, 3PLs, customers, suppliers, warehouse automation, e-commerce platforms and other software using SAP Integration Suite, APIs, IDocs and EDI. We also set up monitoring so failed messages are caught early.
Yes. We build ABAP programs, enhancements, Fiori apps, BTP extensions, workflows, reports, forms and custom RF screens for SAP EWM. We follow a clean core approach, so your system stays easy to upgrade.
If you run SAP WM today and are moving to S/4HANA, yes, you need a plan. SAP EWM is SAP's long-term warehouse solution, and Stock Room Management can be enough for simple storerooms. We review each warehouse and recommend the right option.
Yes. When one team designs both, loading, shipping and carrier handoff fit together as one flow. But you don't have to do both. We help you pick what your business actually needs, and we can add SAP Yard Logistics or SAP BN4L later if your yard or carriers need it.
Yes. Every project includes hypercare right after go-live. After that, we offer ongoing SAP support, issue resolution, enhancements and system improvements.
Look for experience in your specific processes, not just SAP in general. Ask who will actually work on your project, how they handle custom code, how they test before go-live and what support they give afterward. Ask for references from projects like yours. We are happy to answer all of these on a first call.
Planning an SAP implementation, an S/4HANA migration or a supply chain transformation? Or trying to fix a warehouse or transport process that isn't working? A short call is the best place to start. Tell us where you are today, and we will tell you honestly what we would do next.
