With the new feature pack, SAP brings new innovations to the supply chain execution platform with a strong emphasis on integration aspects and scenarios. The main focus is on improving the usability and interoperability of the platform.

Streamlining Transportation and Warehouse Processes through Advanced Shipping and Receiving (ASR) Integration

Previously, the focus of Advanced Shipping and Receiving (ASR) scenarios was on warehouse or execution-driven processes. With this new innovation, SAP now supports a transportation-driven ASR process. This means that the transportation planner can use all the capabilities of TM, such as the VSR Optimizer, Package Building, and Load Optimization, to finalize a cost-optimized transportation plan. In a second step, this cost-optimal plan is handed over to EWM for warehouse processing. To enable this, the warehouse activities are blocked until transportation planning is finalized and the plan is released and transferred to EWM.

2. 2. Strategic Freight Procurement (SFP):

Another key investment area of this feature package is Strategic Freight Procurement (SFP). This has been a major focus area of the package, bringing further enhancements to the platform.

By prioritizing integration and supply chain execution, SAP continues to deliver innovative solutions and improvements to its users.

3. Transportation-Driven ASR Process

With the new feature package, SAP now supports a transportation-driven ASR process, allowing transportation planners to use all the capabilities of TM to finalize a cost-optimized transportation plan. This cost-optimized plan is then handed over to EWM for warehouse processing. To enable this, the warehouse activities are blocked until transportation planning is finalized, and the plan is released and transferred to EWM.

• SAP has taken significant steps forward in TU-based TM-EWM Integration, supporting TU-based integration between TM and EWM for stock transport orders.

• SAP also supports the cancellation of freight orders or deletion of stops in multi-pickup, multi-drop scenarios within this integration. The related warehouse activities are adapted accordingly. Alternatively, the cancellation process may originate from EWM activities, leading to the cancelation of stops, stages, or complete freight orders in TM.

• SAP allows handling supplier returns by triggering QM notification, which streamlines and simplifies the return management process.

• Transportation Management Integration into Intercompany Business Processes

• - Integration with Intercompany Sales and STO:

• Transportation Management is now integrated into advanced intercompany sales and STO processes. This integration supports the new Incoterm handling that was released with SAP S/4HANA 2022.

The new feature package brings several enhancements to SFP, including a flat view format for carrier RFQs and using spreadsheets. Shippers can now work with a single user interface for capacity demand and rates when negotiating freight agreement RFQs with carriers. The new feature improved usability significantly.

• SAP now allows shippers to download capacity demand and rates into a flat-view spreadsheet for easier updates. Carriers can also use a similar spreadsheet to respond to RFQs.

• hippers can create an RFQ master from a freight agreement and use the capacity demand and rates in the RFQ master.

• 3. Evaluations and Awarding using Capacity Demand and Rates:

• Shippers can use the evaluations and awarding functions of capacity demand and rates to compare carrier responses and make informed decisions.

Enable Tolerance of Mistakes and Corrective Measures in Freight Agreement RFQs Negotiations

• 1. Resubmit Carrier Responses:

• SAP allows carriers to resubmit responses after shippers have made changes to data in one or multiple freight agreement RFQs.

• 2. End Bidding Period Early:

• Shippers can end the bidding period early if all carriers have responded or rejected.

• 3. Evaluations User Interface:

• SCM champs can use the evaluations user interface in capacity demand and rates to insert or edit simulations to evaluate and compare carrier responses received for a freight agreement request for quotation (RFQ) master.
